I Think I Just Wrote My Next Book... (Well, my next blog at least.)
Last week, the wonderful @Matt Church from @Thought Leaders Business School challenged me to write a book.
His only rule?
Don't write about what you want to know. Write about what you already know. What you already teach. What you already facilitate. Write about your expertise.
He even suggested a title:
Future Ready Humans.
So, being the good student that I am, I sat down to write.
And then I realised...
I may have already written the table of contents.
Chapter 1: Healthy Governance™
If our species is going to survive and thrive, we need strong foundations.
Not more rules. Better governance.
Healthy Governance™ is about creating clarity, trust, accountability and good decision-making. It's about ensuring people know their role, have meaningful conversations and make decisions that serve the whole.
Before we solve humanity's biggest challenges, perhaps we need to get better at governing ourselves.
Chapter 2: Healthy Planning™
Every organisation I work with eventually asks the same question:
"Where are we heading?"
The answer isn't found by locking a few executives in a room for a day.
Healthy Planning™ is about bringing people together to think, challenge, collaborate and agree on a shared future. It's about creating plans everyone understands because everyone helped shape them.
And then...
Using the plan.
Not writing it.
Not printing it.
Using it.
Chapter 3: Healthy Leadership™
Plans don't create change.
People do.
That's why we need Healthy Leadership™.
Leadership isn't about having all the answers. It's about knowing where to focus your energy.
That's why I teach leaders to Lead their Focus™:
• ME - Focus on yourself.
• WE - Focus on your team.
• US - Focus on your organisation.
• THEM - Focus on your community and stakeholders.
Healthy leaders create healthy organisations.
Healthy organisations create healthy communities.
Chapter 4: Healthy Mentorship™
Not every challenge needs another workshop.
Sometimes one conversation changes everything.
Healthy Mentorship™ is about walking alongside leaders as they navigate governance challenges, strategic decisions, difficult conversations and moments of self-doubt.
It's personalised.
It's practical.
Sometimes it's exactly what a leader needs to keep moving forward.
Matt challenged me to write a book called Future Ready Humans. What do humans need to know to be future ready?
Perhaps we don't need a curriculum about technology or AI. They're just our enablers.
Maybe we need a curriculum about being better humans.
• Healthy Governance™.
• Healthy Planning™.
• Healthy Leadership™.
• Healthy Mentorship™.
Because if we can build healthier organisations, we can build healthier communities.
And if we can build healthier communities...
Maybe we can create a future of Future Ready Humans.
I think I might have just found the first four chapters of my next book... or maybe four new books.
Either way, thanks Matt.
