Impact Networks
It’s not often that I receive a book in the mail and read the first 30 pages over my morning cup of tea (actually never)…. but this week it happened and I was so engaged in what I was reading the kids were late for school 🤦🏽♀️.
Author David Ehrilichman says “Given the increasing complexity of our society and the issues we face, our ability to form, grow and work through networks has never been more essential” YES! “Impact networks have a common aim, an operational backbone and a bias for action” YES! These words and his other explanations of why networks work in creating change resonates and is what I have seen unfold in my company and our structure and also in my advocacy work. Def got a bias for action 🤣!.
I’m not fussed about the name ‘impact network’, ‘community of practice’, ‘collective impact’, ‘Clusters’ or a simple collaboration (for the academics I know they are all a little bit different!) but it is all about working together towards a common goal to create change… Looking fwd to the pages ahead 👩🏫 thanks for the recommendation Katy Cooper 😉
